Jennie Renda of the Providence Section of Scranton died Tuesday at the Allied Hospice Inpatient Unit following on illness.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Carolyn Esposito Renda.
Prior to her retirement at age 82, she was employed at the Lackawanna Human Development Agency, and she was previously employed in the local garment industry.
Jennie had three passions in her life, God, Family and her dog Sparkey, a very generous person, she always would say “I would rather give then receive”.
She was an excellent cook and loved making big meals and sharing them with her family.
She was a life member of St. Anthony of Padua Church until its closing, now member of Mary Mother of God Parish.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, gret nieces and nephews, and gret great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia “Poopsie” Renda, Mary Forsetti, Josephine Colosimo, Rose Sposito, Antoinette Renda, and Angeline Csigi; Brothers, Frank “Stewart” Renda, and Anthony Renda.
The funeral will be conducted Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in Mary Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary church, 316 William St. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
