Judith A. Chobey of North Scranton died Tuesday, October 16th at home following an illness. Her husband is Andrew Chobey. They would have celebrated their 50Th wedding anniversary on Friday ,October 19th.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Claire King Miles. Educated in Scranton Schools, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry, working at AAA Trousers, Mayflower Manufacturing, and Alperin Manufacturing.
Judi cherished spending time with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She was so proud of them and she had a special bond with each one of them. She enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and family trips to the beach. She also enjoyed her lunch dates with her friends. She was so sweet and kind to everyone. She enjoyed life and always had a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Also surviving are two daughters, Shannon Moletsky and husband Mark, Clarks Summit, Kristin Gallagher and husband Eddie, Scranton; five grandchildren, Corey, Lexie, and Paige Moletsky, Kaidyn and Kylie Gallagher; siblings, a brother, Jim Miles; a sister, Karen Lewis and husband David; a brother, Brian Miles and Alison; brother in-law, John Chobey and wife Michelle; sister in-law, Janice Cordier. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Miles; a sister in law, Judy Miles and a sister in law, Debbie Chobey.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday, October 27th, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. celebrated at Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to Judi’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
